BrightKite even has a BB app, although it has a few bugs still. It can use GPS location for updates as well as locting by address or location name. MyKite is even in AppWorld.
Downloaded this app for my BB Tour and after playing around with it for a few days I deleted it. I like the idea, but there’s just too many bugs in it for me to be satisfied. It was slow and froze a couple times. The GPS timed out quickly even after adjusting time-out time in options. And the GPS detection was shoty while other apps using GPS did fine (wasn’t able to locate me for some reason). Waste of my time.
