I've had the BB Curve 8330 ever since it came out on Boost. I've had some issues here and there with the phone, but for the most part, I have been pretty much satisfied. Since then, Boost has begun carrying the Motorola i1 (Android) and now they have the Curve 8530. I'm just wondering if it would be worth to shell out the extra cash to upgrade to the newer Curve (or even the Android, for that matter) or am I better off just sticking with what I already have. My main issue with the 8330 is the lack of internal memory (96 mb's, to be exact), where as the 8530 has plenty more (256 mb's). Any ideas?
Over 2.5 times the memory, no flash and I'm not sure but doesn't it have wifi too? I'm in the same boat MrSlim. But remember that it won't get OS6. And since my 8330 runs like a Sherman Tank I think I'll wait. But it sure would be nice to have more room! Hmm, you know if you wait awhile it will go down to 150 just like the 8330 did. Good luck in your decision. Let us know how it turns out.

As a former 8330 user(also through Boost), I have to say that the 8330 is a great device. The two advantages that it has over the 8530 is the flash and build quality. However as others have stated, the 8530 has much more memory and it also has OpenGL for gaming, a track pad and if I'm not mistaken, has a faster processor. It is also, better equiped to handle OS 5.0.
Don't think you could go wrong. But if I were you, I'd wait for the price drop. $250 is way too much, even if it is prepaid. I made that mistake with the 8330, if I would have waited a month I could have saved 50 or more bucks. Heck, in four-five months it may even be down to 150. Your 8330 will do more than up hold up til then.

I would definitely go with the 8530 for the more internal memory and it sucks that it does not have flash as it's supposed to be an "upgrade" from the curve 8330.
Neither device is EVDO rev a capable, which amazes me even though the rev a standard was in place during the time of the 8330, my first smartphone.
The 8530 did seem to be a bit of an upgrade vs the 8330, with more memory, wifi and a track pad. If you can upgrade without spending much you may want to go that route but if your 8330 still works for what you want to do, you may be better off waiting for either something better or at last for a price drop.
Your question regarding the Motorola i1 (Android), remember this phone only runs on iDEN, which is has horrible coverage. If you're looking for better coverage and speed, I would stick to either of the Blackberries.
Now when u say no flash what do you mean? Because I thought flash was what allowed the phone to watch yuotube vids. And I can watch them fine on my 8530

The 8530 has no camera flash.
No BlackBerry of any model has Adobe flash yet at this time.
I just read some bad things about Virgin. Ringtones, wallpaper and certain things I take for granted with Boost aren't dowloadable except purchasing through Virgin. Someone please correct me if this is incorrect.
If this is correct I'd rather pay the full $249 for the Boost 8530 that has no restrictions!

Despite the lack of a camera flash, would it be worth it to go out get the more up-to-date BB Curve 8530 for Boost or just stick with what I have (the 8330) for now?
