Start guessing when it comes out for AT&T and then T-Mobile first.

I read on infosyncworld 2 days ago sprint Verizon and T-Mobile would get the bold in January. RIM can't be very happy with att right now. I still wouldn't get my hopes up.

Is RIM even working on a CDMA version of the bold? I sure hope so. I've heard rumors from Sprint sales people that they will be getting a new berry in February, but we all know how that goes. I'm sure RIM is very displeased with ATT so maybe they will step up the pace and push the bold to other carriers sooner.

Why is RIM not pleased with ATT?

It appears the delays with ATT releasing the bold have to do with their network. Because of the demands that the iphone places on their data network, they are experienceing a lot of performance issue with the bold. I read a quote from an article that stated ATT figures they can handle 1 bold for every 20 iphones. This is because the RIM network carries about 70% of the data traffic for their phones.

Currently RIM is making the 8350i for Nextel but there are rumors running around that there is a new blackberry coming to Sprint CDMA network but no info on model number specs or anything right now. I'm actually the Blackberry Specialist for my location but as of right now I'm still waiting to get more information on what the actual device is.

it would make good business scents for rim to make CDMA blackberry's look how good the 8130 pearl and 8330 curve have sold and rim has really taken off in sales and a large part of that is CDMA so yes i think that they already have CDMA phones in testing.

Keep your eye on the BlackBerry Niagara. It will be the closest thing to a Bold coming to the CDMA market in the next 6 months.

I heard Sprint will be releasing the Storm soon, but under a different name. Can anyone tell me if this is true. And what is the Niagara?

From the rumors I have seen, no other device is planned to be a touchscreen CDMA besides the storm. Therefore, I doubt the Storm will be coming out soon for Sprint. If you look back a while on the blogs, Kevin posted what the new devices appeared to be. There wasn't another touchscreen on there if memory serves me correctly.

I dont really understand the phone buying thing so bear with me please. Why is verizon the only one to get the Storm? Did the other companies not want it or was it not offered to them? and since Verizon has it doesnt that mean that most other carriers will get it as well just not as early? I love my curve but id give my left pinky finger for a storm lol

Verizon and RIM have an exclusivity agreement on the Storm. As long as Verizon makes its sales quotas (which we don't know), they will keep the Storm. I don't think that it is that the other companies did not want it. The exclusivity agreement will prevent this phone from coming to another carrier as long as the quotas are made.

Yup....there's a chance that they might get it. But there's also a chance that there will be a blizzard in Florida in August. With the popularity it has been gaining, I don't think Verizon/Vodafone will have any problems making their quotas for a while.

Damn exclusive releases. RIM would sell more units if it released it to a wider group through more carriers.
