Ot much but it should only pair once. It should be set as a trusted device after that so it will auto connect. I do not leave mine on auto connect at startup or as discoverable.

Mine is off until needed.
So you need to turn it on everytime you want to use BT? Also, what is the advantage if any of auto connect at startup? If the connection fails on startup, is the BT turned off...if not, why not just leave on at all times?
Not on 9800 but 9700 but I leave my BT on the phone on all the time and then when I turn on my BT device it will autoconnect. There is no significant loss of battery life with it on.
The reason I leave mine off is because it connects and sends all my call audio to my laptop. I could disable a few things to prevent that but it is easier just to turn off BT.
