If I set my BB Firewall to block incoming SMS text messages will my wireless provider (Verizon) still count them as received and charge me for them?

I'm not completely positive, but I believe that the carrier still charges you for these messages. The firewall only prevents the messages from hitting the device itself.

Someone please correct me if this is not the case.

I know that's how it worked on Virgin Mobile because I kept my phone turned off for a few days, but still saw charges for the texts I would've received when I checked my account online.

Thanks for the replies! I broke down and called Verizon tech. He did have to double check... But yes, sms text blocked by the BB firewall still reach the handheld and therefore count against your monthly allotment if you don't have unlimited sms (I don't). Even sms sent directly to my GV# now appear in BB sms inbox (and BB email app) are counted as part of my monthly allotment. I still reply to GV sms via email, but am not sure if they are counted as outgoing sms yet.

    Thanks again for replies!
