I have connected Blend and my Passport to many computers and tablets with no issues. However, at a friends house, I cannot get it to connect to his Acer Windows 7 computer. It says the firewall or another program is preventing the connection. Anyone have any ideas.

Put the applications in the approved list in the security.

Is your friend's PC is running the latest copy of Blend from the BlackBerry Website?
You also need to be on his Wi-Fi network, too.

A test of the friend's PC setup is to try it with a USB cable. If That works - then you should be OK over Wi-Fi.

If you're testing Blend over mobile you'll need to make sure all the settings on your Passport are allowing that.

I tried that. He has administrative rights, but this is what I get.

Got all those covered. On his Wifi, plugged in USB cable. Made sure both software are the same and up to date. I see his computer paired with my device and the switch is on.

I have been trying to connect my passport to my windows PC for last few days. While connecting the device via USB cable I am able to see the cc drive however while trying to install it saying error occurred and couldn't install.

Aside the BlackBerry link is also not recognising the passport. I also have a q10 and link can recognise the same

Glad to share that I successfully paired my passport with my laptop. It was the ip v6 network which blocked the pairing

What were your actions to resolve the issue with the ip v6 network. I am also noting that you couldn't even pair. I am able to pair on his computer, but when it tries to connect, that is when it gets denied either by the firewall or some program. He uses microsoft essentials as an antivirus software. Not sure if this is the problem.

Actually I was using the mobile network wifi hotspot in which ipv6 was not enabled. I also disabled antivirus but it was not the reason.

    Steps performed:-

Ran the test to connect to check ipv6 connectivity through the website test-ipv6.com
The test results showed the internet service provider appears to have no access to ipv6 connectivity

Got to network connection(control panel), go to adapter and click on network and sharing centre, click view network connection. Right click and click on properties.

Under networking tab click on internet protocol version 6(tcp/ipv6) and click on properties

Under that click the following dna servers and then in the preferred dna server and alternate dna server boxes type the address of primary and secondary dna servers. Click OK

Let me know if above works
