Long Beach, CA - April 1, 2015. Hot on the heels of the introduction of new Kenwood receivers that support the latest industry apps for Smartphone connectivity and control, Kenwood introduces a solution for the millions of people that have phones built before 2007. With a suggested retail price of $1,000, the DDX007 is a fully-featured, multimedia receiver with a CD/DVD transport, a 7" TFT touch screen, built-in HD Radio, 7 band EQ and the Flip-Barry Automotive interface.
Rick Noetzli, Sr. Product Manager stated, These flip and text centric phones have largely been ignored by the industry; I feel there is a huge demand to interface these phones with todays cars. He goes on to say I still have a perfectly good flip phone that I havent been able to use in my car for years.

I'm putting in an order. I've saved so much keeping my flip for 9 years I can afford a $1, 000 accessory for it.

As funny as it is, Kenwood must be pissed for not going the qnx route. They dropped Microsoft to android OS and it's been a disaster since. I had the opportunity to work with their high end double din units and it's nothing short of garbage. The boot up time is the longest I've seen in 16 years in working in the automotive industry. The features and options are very limited. Such as the hdmi input. You can't send that signal to other tvs in the vehicle. Just the Kenwood unit. They've should have gone the qnx route like pioneer.
