If you go on you tube, and type in BlackBerry z10 hammer test you will see. The z10 is very strong, I've dropped mine several times on the cement, and not a scratch.

Dropped mine from head level on parking lot asphalt....phone was mine except for 2 extremely minor nicks in the back panel.

The design of the phone seems to be that the screen wont touch the ground in a fall.

I have several dents and scrapes. I got out of the car twice with the phone in my lap and had it skid across the cement. The battery door is also a little loose now but no scratches on the screen. It is definitely more durable than I had thought. I have seen a screen get cracked from the phone sliding out of my brothers pocket while he was sitting down. That was an sg3 though.

I do construction for a living and when I first got my z10 I did not have a case. I dropped it on concrete several times and once it slipped out of my jacket pocket and into a puddle. Still works fine. I now have an otterbox defender and it has been bumped out of my holster and off scaffolding and it still works perfect. All that being said I think it is a well built device.

Got mine January 2013. Have dropped it on numerous occasions and the only damage it has suffered is some dents on the plastic edging round the screen and the battery door became a little loose.
Bought a new door on amazon for 10 pounds, which seemed to be a better design even though it was the same OEM door as comes with the Z10.
In summary my z10 is the most solid phone I've owned. Makes my old 9800 torch feel cheap in comparison.

Too possessive of my Z10 beast...haven't dropped it once for the last 13-14 months(when I bought it) ...but the general response here suggests that it is pretty tough!!!

I dropped my z10 onto the concrete, and there is a dent in the corner, but everything still works fine

Dropped mine several times..minor abrasive damage where it impacted asphalt but no actual damage and screen does not have a scratch on it after 13 months and no case or screen protector

I've dropped my Z10 several times (both with and with out a case) and save for a couple of scratches and a dent on one corner, its none the worse. Having said that, all it takes is a cracked screen to render the phone useless so I would recommend being careful and using a case when the scenario calls for one.

I recently moved up to a Z30 and dropped it on my wood floor and had it slide under the dining room table less then a week after I got it. I had left the factory screen protector on it until I could get to a mall and have ghost armour installed on it and the factory screen protector got mangled!!! (I have two dogs who track dirt into the house because our maintenance crew has decided to use sand instead of salt this winter.) Needless to say, I managed to find time the next day to hit the mall and get it ghost armoured lol. Tonight I'm going to a concert and will put my Z30 into its Otterbox Commuter case just to be safe.

The BlackBerry Z10 is fantastic as a movie and video player both on-device and via HDMI to a large screen monitor or television. It is very good as a music streaming player. And games are fairly good too. The BlackBerry Z10 is an entertainment smartphone.
