@MADBRADNYC I was going to continue this but I don't see the word Moderator next to your name, hence I am not sure who appointed you the intention police, and I don't feel the need to explain myself further.

    Nice try at deflection!
It doesn't take a moderator to see that you have not read the OP's post and trying to squirm out of that fact.
You asked me to explain. Not the other way around.
However, I don't need to explain myself any further.

    Have a nice day!

Provided RIM exposed an API to allow third-party access to BlackBerry World, this would just be an idea for a third-party app (and server, for the Push). No reason for RIM to do everything themselves...
I cant see RIM ever doing it, as it would ned curation for regions etc, so thats prob too big a task, however 3rd party apps do have access to the hub, so this could actually be a neat 3rd party app if done right.

i remeber there was/is (havent looked lately) an app that would let you know of apps that had price drops and stuff in appworld, so theres the ability to do this, but i dont think RIM would do this themselves as theyd actually maybe be restricting what you view in appworld in a way as youd use the suggestions and not just `browse`, so from their point its not worth doing, but as a 3rd party app it would be useful
There are no official API for BlackBerry App World! But yeah, this could easily become a popular 3rd party app. I suppose it's possible to get RSS feeds of the apps and extrapolate the info from that but that would take a while to compile all of the results...

Technically that's not really an issue, but I'm pretty sure RIM has Terms of Use for BB World which would forbid that without express permission. I could be wrong though.. has anyone checked?

Are you speaking of something like this?
Bring paid apps to your BlackBerry for free with App Stalker | CrackBerry.com
Free App Stalker - Get paid apps for free - Download App Stalker - Get paid apps for free - Free Apps from BlackBerry App World
It is for freebie and price drop status changes as you mentioned.
If you're correct, the same basic premise could be used for new submissions and filtering, right?

ah thats the app lol, yea something like that, where you can filter the updates and plumb the updates into either a new list in the hub, or a single `message` in the hub which has the list internally.
