Will a crushing stock price get the native FB working?
RedBerry Passport /10.3.2.2876 / Telus
Blackberry is absolutely crushing Apple in the sales category of Sticker Packs. Thats a fact. Take that Apple.
You'll find articles like this written for the last five years.... And on paper that first year Chen was in power, they did see over 100% gains. But it was based more on perception of the potential (like a start-up), at this point investor want to see results and not promises of what maybe possible if the stars all align together.
Well next week we'll know for sure how BlackBerry is doing. If they're doing well and their future looks promising, I'm sure we'll be seeing a gain on BBRY.
Here's another article claiming the same thing, that BlackBerry will rebound: http://www.thestreet.com/story/13505...k-breakup.html

Exactly. The headline is pure click-n-bait but in fact he's talking about percentage growth year over year (and only on stock) and of course it's very possible for BB to beat Apple on that type of metric. But that's not saying much. Apple whether they lose or gain stock still has a gigantic share of the smartphone market. And if BB is going to beat Apple in stock growth...I do believe it would be based in large part on their non-smartphone business which I'm not sure is a direct comparison anymore.
It's like comparing a motorcycle company to a car company, perhaps related products as both deal with transportation but not a direct comparison per se.
You have a vivid imagination.
Can't argue with that.
Exactly. Blackberry is becoming a software company (wake up people) and may do very well as one.
The article is talking about stocks anyways, not products.

Seems like a good read

Far from a dying company, though they might kill their hardware / handset division.
Apple has no worries from BlackBerry, after all BlackBerry can't get past fantasy Island.......stories....you know, strong commitment to OS 10 apps. That could be true, but strong commitment for the 5 of us still with OS 10 phones? Not only that, the more they talk the more people run in the other direction. Apple just keeps being Apple, good product, over priced top notch customer support...........oh wait....Chen said strong commitment .......I feel better............ not...........
WOOF!
Woof Woof!
More and more Apple users are making the switch to Android for many reasons. And why shouldn't they? Android offers a much better and more customizable OS than Apple. And if more and more consumers flock to Android, BlackBerry can have time to shine bright with their Android devices. Just not with the Priv though because it sucks... Lol
Which devices are these?
Hypothetically speaking. But Vienna looks promising if it gets released

Not going to happen in this decade... Apple has been on a winning streak and their bank accounts don't lie.
Is it impossible? No. Let's not forget that Apple was once the underdog as well. BlackBerry just needs great minds that think alike.
Not really! Have a listen.

Do you have a link to that claim for switching?
Also, do you really think Samsung/Huawei/Xiaomi will stand still if BBRY shows even the slightest hint of performing unexpectedly well with their Android phones?

Ahhhhh......................Apple users moving to Android on mass.........sounds more like a ghost story or could it be a press release from Chen!
Did you really read the article? You seem to have completely missed the point. iPhone being embedded into mainstream culture has nothing to do with it. They are talking about potential stock growth on a percentage basis. They are not talking about BB handsets dominating iPhone handsets. In fact, it really doesn't have much to do with handsets at all.

it's unlikely, but it wasn't very long ago that we had our curves and bolds in our hands and the first iphone showed up, and it never had a chance against blackberry, either...
crazier things have happened.
There are more Android users than Apple. It's a fact.
Of course there are competition in the Android market, but I strongly believe BlackBerry can dominate the Android market. Samsung is becoming more and more like Apple; they aren't producing anything game changing. Just the same old slabs.

So what will Blackberry bring to Android that will be a game changer?
I agree that the market is a bit stagnant at the moment, nothing really new. Samsung has their market share though and Blackberry doesn't. What will make people change?
