I found a blackberry 8800 for only $20, however I am not currently subscribed to a data plan. The phone was so cheap so I could not pass as it is in excellent condition. I am not to interested in the web browsing or email functions as I am normal cell phone functions such as phone calls and text messaging. Will the phone still function properly without the data plan? Will I still be able to send and receive text and picture messages? I am currently with T-mobile.

Thanks in advance, any help on the subject is greatly appreciated.

the phone will still function properly, sans the "normal" blackberry apps that a blackberry user would've normally used. i'm pretty sure though there a couple of users here who use the blackberry like a regular phone (calls and sms), and the calendar / agenda capability as well.

    lucky purchase!

MMS might not function correctly as it uses data, but I barely even use it.

If it was being sold cheap, check with the provider to see if it's not blocked or reported as stolen after being sold, or bought by you.
