I don't use any cloud platforms for work, just outlook for email and calendar, and Lync for IM's. I'm a Local Authority Social Worker so security is massively important. Which platform supports the above better, Blackberry or Windows phone?

I stand corrected. Please excuse me. I am afraid I am quite wrong and it seems that windows is a better solution.

BlackBerry is better than windows for bussiness. But I don't know if any lync client is available for BlackBerry.

There's the Enterprise IM app, but you need to be on a BES connected device for it to work.

    Windows 10 for the future.

If there is an Android app for Lync, it will definitely run on a BlackBerry PRIV and there are ways of getting it to run on a BB10 device.

BlackBerry devices are still the best at security, productivity, and reliability.

I would still say BlackBerry 10 phone with a physcial keyboard is the best for the type of productivity work where lots of accurate typing is needed on the go.

    That. And BES, for security.

Windows phone is good if you like hideous cartoon 'tiles' and Xbox spam.

Notifications on BB10 will be hit or miss since the app likely won't use BlackBerry's push server.

OP: Does your employer allow both devices? Outlook should work fine on both devices but only Windows Phone has an official Lync/Skype for Business app. BlackBerry Enterprise IM could work for Lync on BB10 but only if your employer supports it through a BES server IIRC.

Think the OP needs to be talking with their IT support.... if "security is massively important" to them.
