Now that you mention it, it kinda does. My first thought was an open Torch 9800.
Not as much of a fan of this one as I was of your other design. While it does give the appearance of being "too long" much like the 9800 did at first, I eventually got used to that and loved it. I'm sure I could used to this one as well.

Exactly, imagine what the ladies would think if the see the long bulge in your pocket... ;)
Don't like the red outline of the BlackBerry logo, don't like the white border around each key (would have preferred keeping the frets), and I just think the corners are to rounded.

The red outline is just to show that the logo acts as the new alert light, the borders just show the sizes of the keys and approximate spacing, thank you for your comments, I shall consider them in my next concept...
There could be great publicity here...
You should have made a render of it sitting in the pocket, to be printed on the side of the box.
I can see Chen at the V5 launch. He is casually moving back and forth on the stage, with the thing in one of the pockets of his blue jeans. An enthusiastic crowd of young ladies cheer every time they get a glimpse of the pocket...
It will became known as the real Black Phone.
