what are the major differences between the two devices?

the only differences i've been able to find so far are battery life, camera/no camera, and overall dimensions.

edit: and from what i've read the world doesn't send and receive video messages

Let's see...

Storm = Faster processor, more memory, touch screen (vs. qwerty), camera for photos/videos, MMS (WE doesn't do MMS), and Storm-specific apps.

WE = extremely stable device.

A better comparison would be the Tour and the Storm, since the two are very similar in design and internal components. The Tour is also the 8830WE replacement.
