Here in Switzerland I think it hasn't changed much in the recent years. BlackBerry has never been very popular here, but it wasn't unpopular either. I see quite many 9900s, Q10s and Z10s around here and I think it's actually getting better. So if BlackBerry will come up with some cool devices this year (especially qwerty), I think they can keep or extend their user base.

It's good to see that people are happy with BlackBerry in some regions like the Philippines.

@Markiee I see. Because Im currently using my Bold 9790 and I've only used wifi, no BIS so my BBM is not working. Maybe I need to tell some of my friends there to get me white Z30 to ship here. Thanks btw

Nope, it's only available on one carrier and sales have been quite poor in Switzerland.

Hope to see more marketing in the Philippines. Most people still think that BB10 is the same as BB OS and they have to pay extra bucks for BBM.

It's been poor everywhere. There is no push to sell... no ads. **** all.

Even here no blackberry ads at all. Always seeing colored iphones for tv ads. I wonder why blackberry cant do that. Maybe in super bowl ads. If they want to be part of the market, they should exhaust all their efforts to get people to be hooked on their products.

That's true - and I still haven't seen one out there by now. Q10 is what I see most around here, next to some Z10 and in the corporate field still quite a few legacy devices.

Main reason is probably the almost inexistent advertising for the Z30 followed by the fact that companies mostly don't issue BB10 devices yet. Additionally most BlackBerry users seem to not having the need to upgrade their phones very frequently. Those who are on BB10 already are happy with their Q10/Z10 and those who are on OS7 probably won't switch if they haven't done so earlier.

That's true. But ads didn't help the q10 or z10 either.

Well there are some that blame the ads and others that blame the device.
Given the the return rates of the z10 and the write down(s), I'm inclined to believe the latter.

It broke my heart when I couldn't find any Z30 during the holidays at any store in the Philippines. Now, I've been seeing Z30 boxes in SM North and in Robinsons Place Manila, but their only available units are WHITE Z30's. I WANT BLACK! BLACK BLACK BLACK! I almost (ALMOST) got an iPad Air because of frustration. (but I didn't) I'm still saving my cash for a BLACK Z30.

btw, both stores at SM North EDSA and Robinsons Place Manila, only accept CASH for all unit purchases. They haven't applied for a credit card terminal. boo!
Go to HOTGADGETS store in ortigas accross robinson all of their stocks are black

I'm talking to a girl from the Philippines on BBM and have for sometime now. She got my PIN from CB so I guess she's a member. She tells me that BlackBerry is widely popular in the Philippines. I guess BlackBerry still has some traction in other parts of the globe.

    SERVICE BLACKBERRY
    Hi there,
but there is at "Jaka Center Bldg." Chino Roces Street / Urban Avenue !! Makati…. They service Samsung-Blackberry and more….. But of course the biggest problems with BlackBerry here in Philippines is that you cannot find original BB batteries only faked ones - some of these pirates are working pretty good for awhile but it's not same as original - far away……and that I don't understand how come I mean batteries are not that expensive!!! pirates range from p300-p1500 and 1500 is criminal price = 34us$ (import tax 30%) so it must be better to buy here at CrackBerry indeed - if you don't have to pay custom some extra for the release?? that I suspect is true but how much ???
    my bold9780 still good _ Q10 soon ?! I hope….

I just wanna share that despite bad publicity, blackberry is still popular in the Philippines, mainly because of BBM. And now z10 dropped their price from Php 22,000 (USD 500) to Php 13,000 (USD 300) without contract

    Sorry for my bad english

Do you know if the 13k Z10 is the LTE-ready one? If it is, then good. Z10 is a great phone and I prefer it over android. Too bad I have a crappy service provider.

When I visited the Philippines on Dec last year, many people were still using regular cell phones. Most of the small stores were selling cheap old androids and a few BlackBerry legacy phones. Man I miss the Philippines
