Hey I have the Blackberry Curve 8520 and I'm planning on getting a new one I just wanted to know whether to get the Bold 9780 or wait for the new touchsecreen Bold thats coming out later this year?
I say go for it...Don't wait as something newer and better is always around the corner....I went from and BB8310, to iphone 3G, to BB9800 and am now back to the 8320 all due dis-satifaction with one thing or another...You will never know until you pick it up and hang on to it for a few days..service providers should give you a 30 day window....
the 9780 now has a pretty good working os with .480 many of the bugs are worked out. If you wait for the new phone you will might be getting something that does not work so well or has bugs that take time to fix. So it might be a whole yr before you get a solid phone again. That said they might get it right the first time. Depends how badly you need or want a new phone today.
One of my school friends got a new 9780 for her new phone... the thing is she is very happy with it (except I have tech her how to use it lol)....
If you are up for a renewal or you are in the market for a new phone, I would compare the specifications (such as RAM, processor, etc, etc) of the new models and OS 6.1 and if it fits your need, I would wait, if not many people who got 9780 are happy with their decision.
EDIT: If it comes with 768MB RAM, I would wait for it, because I hate and love my 9700. I like my 9700, but too little RAM.
Do you really want to have a bold with a touchscreen? Or could you suffice with the Bold 9780?
There is a lot more to the new Bold Touch then just a touch screen. Twice the processor and more ram. 6.1 os ( don't know how much of an improvement that will be). Imo it would be worth the wait to see what the new BB's will offer.
