BlackBerry releasing Q5 in Canada makes

The professor did not consider that high-end smartphones segment is slowing down. They are trying to target the mid-range market. Nokia is doing it for some time now.

Yeh but will anyone buy the q5? You can get a z10 on Kijiji for 300, an older 9900 for 150.

I see the Q5 as a replacement for the curves. We don't tend to buy our phones outright in Canada and the Q5 on contract will probably be a lot cheaper than a Q10.

In addition, if the Q5 works well, it will be a cheaper alternative for larger corporations buying hundreds or thousands of phones.

A lot of my buddies that were tight on cash but needed a phone went to koodo, and the best phone they offered for the longest time was some curve model. The Q5 coming to this carrier can only be beneficial to blackberry as an upgrade to those that could only afford a cheap phone like the curve

I know that we will probably be taking the Q5 over the Q10 for work devices.

Cheaper and since they will be deployed in regulated mode there is no need for the extra bells and whistles
