Hey everyone, just recently got the Q5, the keyboard typing is slow i dont type that fast n by the time ive finished one message its 4 or 3 words behind, i did a software update to 10.2.0.424 then it was still happening so i got the leaked 10.2.1.641 n its still happening, is there like a mod or something i can use or a android app that'll stop this from happening? or anything? Please help! Thanks

Probably better doing a factory reset and starting again.
Plus format sd card if you have one.

? via CB10 app on my BlackBerry Q10?

That shouldn't be the case. While I don't have a Q5, I've tried them in stores and typing speed was no different compared to my Q10. While the Q5 sure has a slower clocked CPU, it shouldn't affect typing at all.
You could really try a complete factory reset/reinstallation of the firmware, or else I'd send in the phone.

It happens sometimes but I thought it was because I had a leak installed. My sym key doesn't function instantly at times, but all o these happen rarely so it never crossed my mind.

In the pas I had the lagging keyboard symptom but I was running a leaked os. Is this happening only for certain accounts? For example, is it only happening when u send bbms not texts?

My q5 is mint, try returning it as it may be defective, personally I like the Q5 better than the Q10 just because it's a bit bigger and the space in between the keys!

Flicked on my Z30 or crushed on my Q5!

Thanks guys for the quick replys, its only happening when i use BBM, version 10.2.25.101, the typing on bbm lags that much that when i put a space in between words it doesnt put it, i do a reboot and then it works fine for about 5 minutes?? When i got the phone i reset it then did a update before using it properly, my memory card was in my old phone the bb 9320, i put it in my q5 it said about a error i formated it through the settings but the errors still there but the memory card works but not all my files are showing, could this be the problem?? Thanks

I have got the same problem with my Q10. Also after installing an OS through an autoloader the problem persist. Right now I'm on 10.2 official.

Perhaps something is running in the background and it is slowing down the phone.

I suppose it is something related with bbm emoticons rendering..

Its reported bug since first 10.2 leak. Look at BlackBerry support forums and you will find bunch of threads...

BB doesnt care about fixing it. Same problems are on Q10 and Z10 too

As stated before: I do :-( Try to frequently (once per couple of days) delete chats.
P.s. I repeat: it just happens for me on BBM (or it lags a bit on reaaaaally long sms-whatsapp..)

I Contacted BBM software developer via BB app world, took a few days to get back to me. They went through the steps of restoring etc. The person said ' ello James,

Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Technical Support.

If that's the case sir we have to wait for the next software release that can fix this issue.

If you require further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you again for contacting us.' so hopefully it will be fixed in the next update. Was hoping they could do something now but wishfull thinking:/
