Check out this ad on the Vancouver craigslist and tell me what you think:

BB Q10 BUGGED & HACKED FOR SALE

This guy claims to have been under surveillance by the RCMP and is selling a "bugged and hacked" Q10. What do you think? Is this legit? He's selling it for $1000....

What does this say about BlackBerry security if the RCMP can "bug and hack" their devices? Not trying to start trouble, but I found this post to be quite interesting.

Copied the body of the post here in case the ad goes down:

    I Have a Blackberry Q10, unlocked....

I di buy this cell phone used, but I did not know it that I was under surveillance by the Vancouver Police and the RCMP, so they fool me with this hacked phone....

However I do not need it anymore, but I am very sure that out there some people would love to stick their fingers on it...

I am doing this because I want to know how feels like to be as low and despicable as a cop....

    So lets the bidding begin.....

NO BULL**** AND ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS

How did he know it was being monitored by the police ?
    ( did he receive a police emoji ? )

Does he mention if he is a criminal or doing something illegal ?

I'm surprised no one from this site has bought it yet, as much as folks seem to love baseless conspiracies.

The only person dumber than the glue eating simpleton that put up the ad is anyone who would buy a single Q10 for $1000.

My passport is bugged by the Chinese commies, due to commies are way more bad *** than the RCMP, and a passport is worth like 4 q10s, bidding starts at 5000 dollars.

Well, NSO group *does* target blackberries. I am seriously doubt this guy made a valuable target, though, given the price of NSO's services.

UPD: I see, he claims it was sold pre-bugged. It is easier but much less interesting, I doubt anyone would pay for it.

It's very possible that he could be under legal surveillance and that his PHONE CALLS could be intercepted just like any other cellular signal. But a factory reset will solve any other "bugs." LOL

    I don't get it.

Even if he were saying the truth, why would anyone pay extra for a "bugged" phone?

Yes, except there is a very good chance that 'the nasty' has nothing to do with the device itself and was bugged from the carrier side. It would be far too safe of a world if they actually needed to modify the hardware anymore.

$1,000.00? Is that US or Canadian? It could be a bargain for 24 hr surveillance by Canada's finest.
