At least get the fact right, it is 4.3 not 4.4 Lol

What's the meaning of making a android low device? BlackBerry is not efficient on hardware devices. BlackBerry phone are too expensive cause it use same hardware than android but costs much more.

I really wanna a HTC made BB10 OS lol.

Does it make sense to use the Leap platform with an android OS? It might, I think just to test the waters.

I guess as long as BlackBerry still offers bb10 as an OS, I would still buy BlackBerry phones but we'll have to see how their android version does, if the indeed it's true.

I'd still keep my Passports though. If they come out with an android Leap, I'm probably buying the bb10 and android version just to see which one does better.

If you had the choice to sell for example 1 million units or 50 million units, which one would you choose? This is blackberry answer to selling a better than fair amount of handset for anyone not looking for a complete secure platform.

I have no problem with BlackBerry entering the Android market.

Just as long as they stay in the BlackBerry 10 market.

It make sense to have low end smartphone running Android for emerging market. Even though it is low end with Android software but security is still number one with BlackBerry builds. Since it is top security than any other brands, I hope it will sale more. Finally, Google needed BlackBerry helps with security in return, Google let BlackBerry build Android software for BlackBerry and I hope Google let BlackBerry keeps BlackBerry logo on boot up.

We don't have details on the BlackBerry Experience... but does anyone believe it's going to be free?

Does anyone believe that BlackBerry can magically secure Android better than Google and all their resource.... and it still have access to Google Play? (several manufactures make more secure versions of Android - but they aren't OHA approved)

Does anyone believe that a BlackBerry Z3 running Android would sell for less than a BlackBerry Z3 running this special Android?

While the rumor to move to Android makes sense for enterprise customers.... it makes no sense as a product in the highly competitive developing markets.

Still wonder how sales of the Z3 ended after a year... and if that played a part in the LEAP being made by a different OEM.

That would be cool. If it's AOSP then it could be flashed to any rooted Andoid phone. Which would be really fun to play with. But I doubt Blackberry would build an AOSP ROM from scratch for what sounds like an experiment-or testing the waters.

It would be the worst idea ever, who in this universe would buy a low Android BB? BB cant compete vs chinese products, or other low cost brands with its hardware specs. I can buy a 4.3 Android Chinese Huawei Phone for U$80 unlocked, how is BB going to compete vs that?

This is boring news. It's a low-end all-touch Android. What's exciting about that? Make a high-end Android/BB10 qwerty device and it'll draw interest.

BlackBerry can't and won't comment on any of it directly other than to say they remain committed to BB10 and don't comment on rumor/speculation. Especially right now as they head into the earnings report.

If BlackBerry releases this device in India for the price at which it released the Z3 then forget about selling even a handful of these.......it'll only be a success in India if it's going to be priced at ₹9000-11000 ($150-175) cuz of the Chinese android manufacturers and off course the moto e and moto g prices.......and I don't think BlackBerry would do that even if it is going to release it..... :P

I guess if BlackBerry takes this route it'll loose more customers than it'll gain cuz no "Android Runtime" in BB 10 anymore if BlackBerry wants to be a part of OHA......
