Im looking for a tablet for university. Something that can read some pdf's and play some videos.

The main reason is that I heard BlackBerry Bridge is back for os 10 (I currently have a q10). So playbook users, tell me the good the bad and the ugly.

The playbook is 3 years old now? I see some people selling them for a $100. So its a really good deal. My major concern is LAG. I hate using something that hesitates or stutters.

Bridge is not "back". BBM for bridge is back. You still don't have SMS and other things. This means you still have to keep your phone in view if you want to know if you have other types of messages.

I don't find it has lag but for how cheap it is just to watch movies and open PDFs its ok

I have to say I agree! Big disappointment I was excited to hear it was fully functional bridge but it definitely isn't. Still missing many if the useful features from the legacy os. I guess I will be deleting it again from my Z10

Not back at all. Some speculate it could be running full again with 10.2, but not sure how valid that rumor is.

The only thing I ever find laggy is the browser checkerboarding. Origami browser pretty much fixes that for free.

Origami browser is quite good and with BBM going mostly cross platform I will be able to use my PlayBook for all my important instant contacts.

I'd like to have the email bridge back only because I preferred to have my work email through the bridge rather than directly on my PlayBook.

For $100, for pdf, video, music, it's great. I use mine in the yard with some bt speakers for tunes all th time. My daughter watches all kinds of movies on hers too.
