I'm into it. T-Mobile never sold the white model of either the Z10 or Q10 so now I'm enticed to buy one of them in white.

Yeah they couldn't have set the initial prices at the sale prices or it would have been looked at like a negative thing (ZOMG firesale!) instead of a positive (taking some control of the channel). Plus, this way they get to put a lower price in bright red next to the 'original' price.

Those prices plus a calling plan still make the z look stupidly expensive..... In UK you can get it free on a reasonable plan and still no one buys it. Needs to be less than 100 here and I'd still give it less than no chance, I'd maybe buy one tho

Pricing is off on BB's site, for sure. But I know of this seller, and wouldn't exactly consider them reputable anymore (if anyone want's to know why, PM me.)

amazon has z10 from many dealers for $340. 450 is $100 higher considered the write down they just took on them

Well, that $339.50 listing you see could be the STL100-1, i.e. LTE-less model. Not saying that BB's prices aren't a bit excessive, but buying on Amazon on eBay is risky. There was a big, reputable seller on eBay (buydig) who advertised STL100-3s, but people ended up getting STL100-1s, and were not happy.

They can bring it down to $349. Then do a FS around Black Friday for $199/$249.

There was no support to begin with from US carriers. Blackberry is realizing that and starting on its own. Carriers in the states are in tough subsidy agreements with Apple, so unless a vendor gives good incentive, like Samsung, they have no reason to push Blackberry. That's one of the main reason that Blackberry is having tough time in the states.

Given that these phones are not even being stocked in most retail locations any longer, BB pretty much had to go this route sooner or later if they weren't sticking the phones in a landfill.

However, the price is WAYYY to high on the Z10. $349 USD might have been reasonable, though $299 would be better if they really want to move them and grow the user base quickly. (You can get a 16GB Nexus 4 for $249).

This really doesn't have much to do with Apple. BB is fully capable of providing incentives just as any other manufacturer might. They could have spent that $1B on that and more apps instead of a write off on Z10's and be in a much better position today.

I don't think the site will be a very good place to fire sale Blackberries. Google has done this experiment a number of times with the Nexus line of devices and, other than the Nexus 4, devices have always had poor sales or were largely sold in brick and mortar retailers. Even the Nexus 4 never sold in huge volume; though, much more sold than anticipated.

Consumers prefer to shop for phones in brick and mortar stores and they are even less likely to visit a website that only sells devices of a small niche OS than a website like Amazon that sells everything. No one other than BBRY fans (and maybe deal hunters) will know about this place when the fire sale happens.

Are they really higher than the outdated Apple ecosystem? If they are, they have to be the same price or maybe $50 or so lower to compete....
