One of my favorite apps is the BB news app. A few days ago it stopped uploading current information. I thought it was a fluke and hoped it would correct itself. Days have gone by and nothing. I've tried to update numerous times only to get the message "There was a problem connecting to the server. Please try again later." All of my other updates work - weather, connection to internet, etc. so I am at a loss.

I've taken battery out and rebooted, uninstalled program and reinstalled and no change. My device is a 9930 running on 7.1.0 Bundle 2879.

Any Suggestions?

I had never used BlackBerry News app so I can't provide comparisons, but if you're looking for a good news app that allows for customization, check out the AP News app. It's nice, good sources, you can set up in-app and email alerts, organize your news how you want.

Unbelievable.

Another bad news after the infamous shutdown of Google News/BeReader.

I guess there is no other alternative than a joint complaint against RIM, or hope for a resourceful fan initiative..

All other news apps are just ****.

Can someone confirm if this affected Social Feeds as well?

EDIT: Social Feeds is unaffected from BlackBerry News shutdown. You need an active BIS connection though.
