I've had a blackberry for years now and in the past year or so some of the contacts in my Messenger list, who I've been chatting to for ages, all of a sudden become Unreachable for no reason.

I know they still have their berry because I can receive their messages but when I return it, all that happens is the check mark and no delivery, eventually turning unreachable.

Also with some new contacts, once the accepted, they just remain in my pending section.

I'm not the only one this is happening to. i know several other people having the same issues.

I've talked to T-Mobile, my service provider, who are quite useless. I also received a quite useless response from RIM saying nothing except that I qualify for the $55 RIM one time support thing. I don't think I should have to pay them for a faulty piece of software.

Does anyone have any solutions to this? Its extremely frustrating.

This has happened to me before when I switch handhelds. I would always have to ping contact first if they were not reachable, even though I knew they were.

Do you ever resolve this? I am having the same problem right now. T-mobile was no help as they just told be to uninstall and reinstall the program. Thanks!

Try going to Options >Securtity Options >General Settings and make sure content protection is Disabled. If that doesn't do it, remove your battery while the device is ON, wait a minute and replace, see if this helps...
