    Does messaging via the messenger go against your SMS text usage or does it vary via carrier? I have Verizon if that matters.

    BB Messenger is a service requiring a BB data plan. It is the same on every carrier. Without a BB data plan, BBM will not work.

    It is considered data usage and does not reflect in sms.
