the bold breaks down the memory in three sections; Application, device, and media.

Is there a way to allocate some applications, emails, sms to device/media? any way to manage memory at all besides pictures and music to media card? Thanks.

How to Free Up Memory on your BlackBerry Smartphone | CrackBerry.com

Take a look at this link to help free up some memory.

I don't believe that is possible.

There is an app available called Aerize Card Loader that will allow you to put your apps onto your media card. But, you cannot use them while they are on the card. You would have to transfer them back and forth when using them.

Bold was the first BlackBerry to break the 64 Mb memory barrier.

Bold has 128 Mb of addressable memory, and the remainder of 1 Gb assigned to device memory. When you install a media card, it serves as similar function to device memory.

The precious real estate is the addressable memory. That is where the working software is installed.

Device and media memory are for saving data.
