As BlackBerry continues to enhance their software portfolio, they've now announced new features to SecuSUITE for Samsung Knox to help keep Samsung devices more secure. Going forward, SecuSUITE for Samsung Knox will support SecuVOICE to make secure phone calls plus, customers can now also make use of BlackBerry Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platform to manage their devices.

SecuVOICE, which the German Federal Administration has been using to secure its telephone calls for years, is now integrated into SecuSUITE for Samsung Knox. The latest generation of SecuVOICE enables calls to be made in accordance with the SNS standard established by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and is completely interoperable with existing solutions, such as SecuSUITE for BlackBerry 10.

"We're proud to bring to market the first and only secure voice capability that meets BSI's SNS standard," says Dr. Christoph Erdmann, managing director of BlackBerry Secusmart. "The combination of SecuVOICE with BlackBerry UEM for Samsung Knox demonstrates again that BlackBerry can deliver the combination of security and flexibility every dynamic organization requires."

SecuSUITE for Samsung Knox is currently supported across a wide array of devices including the Samsung Galaxy S7, the Samsung Galaxy S8, the S8+, and the Samsung Galaxy Note8 smartphones, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and Tab S3 tablets.

SecuSmart is communications security.... messaging, voice, email those are generally sent in the open on most all devices. Only makes sense for BlackBerry to improve this offering to work with the leader in Android Security.... Samsung.

Right. SecuSmart allows end-to-end encrypted VOICE, Messaging, and Email (but only to other SecuSmart devices), which is something that governments and a few other markets need for targeted users. It's very expensive, but you get those capabilities on an otherwise standard smartphone that you'd already want to carry, so it's worth it for those users with very high security needs.

SecuSmart doesn't do anything in the areas that Knox or other MDM-type solutions cover, which is device security - that's a whole separate area of security.

We use this service as well as BBM Enterprise and it works great.

- Voice and IM (no e-mail) and between Secusuite users.
- WiFi or Mobile Data for transport.
- Government but also Enterprise service available.
