Hey there,

My new Blackberry just arrived, but my new contract SIM w/BIS still has to get here. Is there even a point of setting up the new Blackberry with my old SIM, or should I just wait for my new SIM w/BIS. I'm sort of new to Blackberry, so I'm not sure what features require BIS.

What sort of things won't I be able to do?

Yes wait till the sim card show up. That will make the set up much easier.

Phone and texting will work for sure and some data may work, but stuff that depends on RIM like BBM for example will not work, and your email.

Unless you're impatient or need a new phone in an emergency, I would just wait.
