Confirmed what I knew to be the truth. Thanks for posting for the benefit of others.
Exactly. Hopefully people will stop freaking out now & stop blaming RIM/BlackBerry.

Even knowing that U.S. carriers take longer to approve phones, BlackBerry failed to get the new model to American carriers sooner than its overseas partners.

    Therein lies the problem.
Hold on... BlackBerry got the new models to all the carriers at the same time. In other words: when it was ready. What the article, and yourself, are saying is: "Despite the new models being ready, they should have been given to US carriers only to start with as they can't get their sh.t in gear, just to penalise everyone else who can do things fast."

Now that is some very individualistic thinking.

    Si.

    Thank you. My thoughts exactly.

Also in the article it states that US carriers are used to being able to run roughshod over the manufacturer. Does the US have a competition bureau? They should be all over this.

Really? Really? So if you have a co-worker that slacks off your boss should give him extra time to finish his project? But because you're competent you should get less time?

Think about the Indian subcontinent... We have no clue from the carriers.. Its like the phone was never released, or the carriers have not heard the word BlackBerry.....

Not only that, it is some of that conceited thinking that the US should have the first crack at it just because 'we want it Right NOW!' When the jnit was ready, it was available for testing. They couldn't exactly make special rules or exceptions just because someone else can't pull their thumbs out because rules insist they keep them firmly planted until given the order to switch.

There's a reason why there's a search function. In fact the posting rules cover this:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/forum-r...uidelines-113/

Use the Site Search and Forum Search

If you have a basic question that needs answering, depending on the specifics, there’s a good chance the answer might already be posted in the forums and/or elsewhere on the site. We’ve assembled a lot of the basic blackberry FAQs on the site, and with the forums growing daily there is a lot of knowledge accumulating in the database. Doing site searches before posting will help keep things efficient.
