    It is a feature on BB7, I don't know if it's on the lower platforms. It is called "Urgent Message Alert" I think.

    Wow, have been tracking hurricane Isaac on Wunderground when the Warning of a tornado came up. Pretty cool stuff. I'm further North from you so I have not received the warning on my phone.

    Depending on how far North you are, you might receive the message soon as the storm is moving northwest

    I get these all the time, it's from the carrier. Scares the crap out of you if you don't know what it is, lol. Most of my users want to know how to turn it off.

    The carrier. I think it's a federally mandated program. It's call CMAS. More:t-mobile.com/cmas

    There was a crackberry post about that. If you're on the blackberry os 7.1, you can turn off most of the features except the presidential one. Just open the app, click options, and unselect the boxes.
