I tried searching and could not find anything. Just wanted to ask if the BB has an option to download only the email title and then downloading the body when requested to minimize data usage. This is both on the 8310 and 9000. thank you in advance

You can do this on the BIS website. You need to set a filter up and then in the filter set it to send just the header. You can then download the messages you do want and ignore or delete those you either don't want to download or just don't want.

No such option in BES - if it goes to your desktop, it goes to the BlackBerry.
