I called RIM and they told me that the PIN and IMEI I provided to them did not exist. Does that mean I will have problems registering for Blackberry Email service? What does that exactly mean if the PIN and IMEI does not exist?

To answer your question: if RIM doesn't recognize it, no carrier will be able to activate it.

I asked one lady from RIM and she said they didn't make it. Then I asked another lady and she said it just means the phone's not registered with Blackberry

Your only recourse is the retailer, he is selling counterfeit or illegally modified phones.

If you buy one from a carrier, you can be sure of getting the real thing, with a warranty. Any other source is risking the same thing.

Your safest bet is through a reputable company. Either get it through the Carrier or unlocked and unbranded through Horizon Wireless.

Hello!! Restocking fee on a FAKE?? Tell him to send your money back or you are calling the cops. Then after you get your money....CALL THE COPS!! If it was purchased on a CCard, file a dispute with your bank.
