Honestly switch from Q10 to Classic is unnecessary from price stand point. its just I lost my q10 that I have to buy a classic. And im afraid to get another q10 since its 3 yrs old already and there's no brand new q10 here.. so if I want a q10 I will need to buy second hand. And I had a double typing issue on my q10.. no matter how many updates they gave its still there. the only difference every update they made was minimize the double typing issue but not to the point that its all gone..
I bought a mint condition second hand classic
(5 month old) for 11,500 philippine peso or 245 usd complete with leather case minus the headset (for hygenic purposes) as ive checked that it has a bigger keyboard and I was hoping that double typing is not going to be a issue.. so far so good im pretty satisfied with it

Awesome. Glad it's working well. I LOVE my Q10. Probably best BlackBerry I've ever owned far as everything I need. Nothing will ever be what the Bold 9900 was for us all but I think the Classic when the price is softened up will give me more nostalgia with a fairy new phone. My Z10 is wonderful and looks, feels like the iphone 5. It's a good change up when I want a different form factor. I'll keep these 2 probably through 2016 and go from there. Once BlackBerry ends up dead which it will happen for the Hardware side ill have a nice stockpile to use for years.

    Q10's since their release.

Only because it hasn't been revamped.

    Chop chop BlackBerry.

And if it's going to be full android make sure it has a qnx hypervisor that runs our bb10 workspace app.

    Bold and Z30.
The Z30 is an incredible device. And still well competes with today's hardware. All due to BB10's most efficiency and charisma.

Why did I have it so long? Endlessly waiting for the Q10.
Now very happy with my Z30, just wish it was smaller.
Z10 is my emergency phone, only because of battery and speakers. Otherwise it would be my everyday phone.
Might consider Priv in the future.

Posting this on my original 9930. Purchased new about a week after available on VZW. It, or other less abused 9900, is ALWAYS with me. I dual carry various BB10s... Classic, PP & Z30 depending on expected need for the day. Just to fill in the missing gaps in the 99's aging capabilities.

Why is it still my main carry? Because it provides capabilities NOthing else matches to date. Mostly its perfect single handed form factor. I'm typing this in left hand over lunch and will not need to touch it with my right hand. All day, if wanted. If nothing else, the thing makes a superb text and data entry terminal. Throw in a native calendar that I trust, a call "end" key that actually ENDS a call, an rpn calculator app not available on BB10, other apps not available on BB10, fully mature speed dial & shortcut provisions, the ability to insert rows in spreadsheet, etc... On top of swappable battery, charging contacts (no QI overheating) convenience key (assigned to messages for quick message check from ANY app) (double keypress assigned to bring up browser) (triple keypress assigned to bring up network connections, etc... Up to 9 presses, if I recall) (other keys too... Got double press mute assigned to flashlight, etc) Swappable battery provides options to size appropriately for expected use. 5000nAh monster provides DAYS of endurance but adds thickness & weight to form factor. OEM battery retains compact & light weight FF for lighter use days.

I could go on & on. Sorry for the long winded response but you did ask "why". Lol. To say I'm still a Bold enthusiast going on 5 years says quite a bit about the device. I love my Classic, etc & couldn't do without them but they might just pry my 99 from my "cold dead hands"... Lol.

9780 white, since 2011. it refuses to die, even though the camera has failed 3 times now and it was replaced.

as for BB's that have lasted the longest with NO issue that honour would go to my 9790 I had, 4 months. I am hoping my 2 month old 9900 can beat that record. so far so good.

    Yes, some issues.
One of the dedicated buttons no longer working.
My major complaint was not enough memory for apps. Whenever I wanted to add an app, I would have to remove one.
Now just too out of date. But kept it for nostalgia!!

I'm a phone hoarder... I hold on to the ones I loved. I think my oldest is the BlackBerry 7100t. I somewhere have the RIM Inter@ctive 950, but haven't been able to locate it in almost a year. Most likely in my storage unit, but possibly gone forever lol. Most I still have the original boxes to as well.

As for 'why' I still have these devices: Call it love... or a deeply seated psychosis... Either will do haha!

My always reliable 7100i Nextel unit which I traveled the world with and never let me down, I still remember when I was in Russia and China working in the auto industry and when all the folks I was with phones could not get their email except my Blackberry.

I finally moved on to another device which I think was a bold, but I will always have a place in my heart for that device. I still remember being able to fly through the menus using the navigation wheel, only downside was the antenna on those units stuck out about two inches on the top, but I worked around it.

Reminds me of my beloved Nokia 7390, gorgeaus design, awesome reliability and of course a battery which would last me through hell and heaven :-)

It doesn't matter how fast, "smart" and advanced these things are getting I'll always miss he trackpad, really don't know why manufacturers rather use it for gimmicks instead of having the homebutton also serve as a trackpad.
