I was looking at a website called PDAdb.net and they have this Blackberry listed for May 2009 release. Blackberry Curve 8930 (RIM Jupiter)

Is this phone different than the Tour?

    Specs:

    60x109x13.5mm, RIM BlackBerry OS 4.6 , 512MHz CPU, 128MiB RAM, 256MiB ROM, 2.4" 480x360 color transmissive TFT LCD, 3.5mm audio jack, CDMA800, CDMA1900, cdmaOne, CDMA2000 1xRTT, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rel. 0, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A, microSD, microSDHC, TransFlash, mini-USB port, Bluetooth, WLAN, GPS, A-GPS, Geotagging, Built-in QWERTY-type keyb., 3.1MP cam., AF, flash, removable battery.

I only hear about the Tour with no mention of this Blackberry. I am in the process of getting Blackberry's for my wife and I. Just looking for some feedback.

I am unable to post links, but the URL is http:/smartphonedb.com. On the left menu there is a link to Blackberry's.

It's different from the Tour. Looks like a CDMA version of the 8900 aka Javelin. You can google leaked 2009 Blackberry road map. It has more info on upcoming BlackBerry's, not sure how accurate it is.

Is it possible there are two new Blackberry's heading to Verizon? The Tour and the Jupiter?

Yes it's possible. Just like AT&T, they're getting the 8900, and most likely the 9520 also.

Maybe three, I read Verizon customer's may get a flip pearl, Apex I think is the name. The leaked road map has it listed.

My suggestion, wait and see what RIM unveils at WES. Maybe the BlackBerry faithful will be rewarded with some exciting news.

lol @ Sprint. How they only get one Blackberry, while other carriers are bulking up with many.

Sprint has bet their future on the Palm Pre, and it will lead to their further decline. Fabricated Pre shortages will not save the device or Sprint I am sorry to say. Maybe RIM knows better than to provide life preservers to a sinking ship. IMO

Then again... there have been a lot of "iPhone Killers"

    I'm curious to see it.

A lot of other people are as well.

It might give the company some hype.
Not to mention their a lot cheaper than Verizon, especially when they share the same networks...

It's possible. The Pre has garnered a lot of attention, however Palm's financial problems and Sprints lack of Vision do not fill me with confidence. I have used Sprint in the past so I'm not hating, it's just CDMA is a dying technology and WiMax is niche at best.

AT&T will have a Pre too, similar to the Bold. lol, that will kill the Sprint's Pre. iPhone Killer, probably not. Only way to do that is to eliminate anyone with an iPhone.

After checking out the "roadmap" It looks like the niagra or "tour" is a CDMA bold kind of, and this Jupiter is a CDMA curve.

I'd actually expect that this device will come out on CDMA since the older Curve came out on both networks... We can expect the replacement, upgraded model to do the same thing right?

8930 is very likely... They need to come out with it for people who need an upgrade but don't wanna go all out with a 9630 or the ****ty storm.

Why does everyone hate the Storm? It has it's problems, but the product is not that bad. I personally have not found any touch phone to be without is own unique problems.

So I'm guessing the CDMA Bold thay talk about it the 9630? Or is there a 9030 coming out?

I think I read somewhere about the 8930 having 3G also. I like my Storm but I like this 8930 also, I might go for it.

I beleive the CDMA Bold is the 9630 when you see them discussed in the news. Technically not a Bold but as CX and Raido said above they were made to compliment each other.

If I didn't know from reading the forums I would have assumed that a 9030 Bold would have eventually come out.

Personally I love my 8330 but would much prefer going with the 9630 apposed to an 8930. Just as I probably would have gone with an 8830 WE apposed to the Curve if it weren't for the lack of a camera and smaller screen/larger device ratio. I much prefer the keyboard on the 8830.

I would love to have the 9630 and the Storm to alternate between...maybe soon

    Can't wait for the Tour!

I just spent about 30 minutes going through CX's and Radio's posts and threads because I know they posted in a thread somewhere that had a link to that same roadmap. I couldn't find the thread to put the link in here.

I remember that it was said that the "9030" was incorrect on the sheet and it should be "9630".

I apologize in advance if I am remembering incorrectly.
