Blackberry corporate marketshare
- In another thread, a poster kept asserting repeatedly that BB was #1 in corporate market share and had theEli majority of sales. I stated that this was wrong, and then got accused of "making things up". The thread then got turned into, apparently, something unacceptable as it got closed down before I ever got the chance to reply. In a reply I wrote before realizing it was shut down, I thanked some posters who provided follow-up evidence, and discussion, and pointed out that qualitatively, my statement was completely different than the one I was replying to, and thus should not be labeled the same. Still, as even the person I was replying to admitted, (though then, in seeming contradiction asked for the thread to be closed!), the conversation in content was somewhat interesting. Eliminating most of my reply, but leaving some asked-for links intact, here is part of my reply for the edification and discussion of everyone:
"Now, on to my assertion. I did not provide any link mainly because it was a quick response, but also because I did not think it would be controversial -actually, I doubt it is, given the response we see here. With regard to that response, thanks Oniberry and others for both providing evidence, but also debunking some of the other illogical arguments that followed.,....
In any case, a quick search reveals one analysis of IDC reports:

As evidence by this headline, I thought this somewhat common knowledge:
BlackBerry struggling to hang on to third place in corporate smartphone market
I will have to look again later for the other report showing 5 to 1 numbers for jk0sl; (I just typed that giberish falling asleep at keyboard...so that's it for now)anon(5828343) likes this.10-18-13 07:39 AMLike 1 - In another thread, a poster kept asserting repeatedly that BB was #1 in corporate market share and had theEli majority of sales. It's a shame - I don't know if it is a trust issue or what. Perhaps the turmoil at BlackBerry has the corporate world hedging their bets - I can understand that.
My brother is an AD at the aforementioned institution and watching him hammer out an email on the iphone is just funny! My Q handles that with aplomb (and that's why he has the ipad).
Android and iPhone are in enterprise in a big way - they can afford to offer deals BlackBerry simply cannot match. Additionally, with corps remaining on bbos, rather than moving up to the new os... I don't know what BlackBerry is going to do to get out of this.
All I know is that I now have an iphone 5s and ipad, from one place, and a GS4 running a custom rom, from another. And a Q10 for myself.
I don't want BlackBerry to be relegated to a redundant position and I don't want my personal Q to be relegated to non use, due to it being superfluous for me...

MDM from other companies changes the playing field. If BES10 can provide security to iOS and Android, so can Good, MobileIron, or one of the many others.
