I saw an article on the Web, talking about October being the month when BlackBerry is going to launch the classic with 10.3.1

Bbry trying to do a "product interruption".

Hope it works but I think they'll need more than the Classic. A new full touch with 10.3 would be great.

Chen has stated the Classic will be launched in November with 10.3.

Keep in mind that Seeking Alpha is a website where anyone can write and post an article, even one not actually backed with any facts and/or based on rumors.

Who do you believe has better information on the Classic's launch: Chen or the author of this SA article?

10.3 is only for windermere, all others are getting 10.3.1.

No. The windermere will be a high end phone without a tool belt but with a revolutionary keyboard and +4inch screen. The classic will presumably not have these high specs but will feature the return of the tool belt.

10.3 is said to launch with new hardware. 10.3.1 will come later optimized for existing devices and the classic. So my z10 will not see 10.3 only 10.3.1 if that makes sense.

Uhhh... not to my best knowledge...

While 10.3 will launch with new hardware, 10.3 will be pushed to existing devices at the time of the new hardware launch, hence the release of the 10.3 SDK.

10.3.1 will launch later with the device announced later.

10.3 is designed to support the 1440x1440 device. Which is why it will be released before the Q20. The Q20 will launch with 10.3.1, to which shortly before BlackBerry will push the Gold 10.3.1 SDK to developers to ensure that track pad and function key integration can be introduced to applicable applications before the launch of the new device along side 10.3.1.

I don't think that the classic is going to have top leven specs. The fact that they're going to release it with 10.3.1 says that it's not going to have any new hardware. If you want that, better get the Windermere.

No because 10.3 will support new hardware like quad core processors. 10.3.1 will have hardware improvements for the existing hardware.

    Me too.

If there isn't one available when my contract is up in February I'm going Android.

I don't think adding a track pad is going to turn the BlackBerry ship around.

I quite politely have to disagree with you there. I'm convinced that JC is doing everything he can to ensure clear communication between the company and customers. They even wrote an official blog post about 10.3 and 10.3.1 which makes everything clear as water. You just have to read and research everything before making up your mind about the person who is going to turn BlackBerry around. He's already done some amazing things in a short amount of time, so have some respect.
