My apologies. Typing in a bumpy truck.

IMHO BlackBerry has some serious bullish venturing into collaborated efforts with Android at many levels. Coming months will be very interesting.

This could just be reflective of their current collaboration with Samsung.

Android is a registered trademark of Google. So in all likelihood Google and BlackBerry have come to some terms.

It's interesting that he's wanting to identify the devices not just as secured but AndroidSecured as if this will be BlackBerry's mobile identity going forward. It's the only thing that John Chen brought up when asked about Android. I can't wait to see the T-shirt.

Just checking...

no ... just cause a domain name ... EVERYONE has ability to purchase it. Since it doesn't conflict with ANY of Google's or OHA's Android pages or index it's fine. No agreement required.

The question is ... is the website part of the trademark ?
Also AndroidSecurity or AndroidSecured is not a registered trademark is it?

An example:

http://developer.android.com/distrib...ote/brand.html

Any use of the Android name needs to include this attribution in your communication:
Android is a trademark of Google Inc.
^ That can be used on their site without resulting in ANY litagation from Google.

3rd edit:

http://www.google.ca/permissions/tra...mark-list.html
• Android Market™ media store
• Androidify™ mobile app
• Android™ platform
non-exhaustive list (legal terminology) but you get the idea.

Google traditionally hasn't been as litigious as someone say like Apple in defending trademark so it could mean this was done with Google's blessing or it could just mean this will be a website for promotion of BES12 and Android for Work.

Registered trademarks can't be used by anyone other than the owner of the trademark unless permission is granted in a domain name
