I used the bold 9000, and I can say i got a lock to gps within 20 seconds while outside everytime. It seemed pretty accurate where i was at all times as well.
Im sure any phone after that (bold 9700) has the same if not better results.
I would invest in a GPS Bluetooth puck. They are relatively cheap used. Or "dongle" as they are called. Look for a Holux with a sirf III chip, or at least another with that chipset or better. You will save major battery loss on your BB. I have the GPS slim 236 and it is rated to go 12 hours on a single charge. It's small. But there are others even smaller like the 240. You could I guess just plug them in with a car charger, either the BB or the puck.
