So all we know so far is it will be released about the same time as the Tour and this will be the first Verizon Blackberry with WI-FI. Anybody have any more info?

The only logical reason to release two blackberries at the same time would be if they are made for different price points. I'm guessing Tour is the "flagship" qwerty and the Atlas is a lower price point...probably the curve replacement. Probably to entice customers to buy, they include wifi in a lesser device. That makes the most business sense.

Anyone think it could possibly be verizons version of the 8520? 8530 perhaps?

My guess is something with a model number like 8930 or 8530 probably similar to the T-mobile 8900 with similar looks & stats. I also think the battery door will be cheaper plastic like the Curve 83XX series, also no "premium" keyboard with spaces in between the keys and no metal "guitar fret" trim in between, like the Bold or the Tour.

    Just my 2 cents

I'm guessing they wouldn't want to release the Storm 2 until more Christmas time considering its much more of a consumer phone than the Tour. I'm going to assume the Tour and "Atlas" will be released some time during the summer. Of course this is just me thinking as what makes most sense from a sales/financial perspective.

From the article that was posted on BGR I understood that the Atlas was the Storm 2. Which would make sense...Seeing as the only CDMA bb's that have been really talked about at all recently are the Tour, Pearl Flip, & Storm 2....So....

I still feel the Bold is the flagship phone for RIM and will remain with that honor. The Tour comes a close second imo!

Maybe if they release the storm 2 over the summer they might have a decent OS running on it by christmas... That might make the most "sales" sense. I think buyers "in the know" will be a little wary this time around. However, I'm sure sales will still sky rocket because of users who are impulsive or never had the storm, etc.

The Storm 2 should release with at least 5.0.
    Anything less is unacceptable.

depends on how you define flagship......like bmw, is their flagship the 750il with all the bells and whistles (bold), or is the m5 with the 500hp v10 that is smaller and can perform better(tour).....

    Its called misinformation.
Atlas, Odin, and Tour are either code-names or complete misinformation.

Onyx will be a real Blackberry name, that will be released... probably will be the 9630 (not 'Tour' as we've been mis-led to think).

The 9630s official name is the Tour. It's code name was the Niagra. You can see that it's called the Tour in some of the internal Verizon documents that were posted on this site.

i think something like 87 of your 90 posts are about Tour not being the name of the 9630.

every thread has you popping in saying "wrong name." lol
