Hey just called a friend of mine that works for rogers and she also let me know that there hints about a storm slider and touch screen bold. Now she said not to quote her on that, these are rumors of the BB lineup for 09

Anyone know if we can unlock this one and use it on AT&T?
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.

Yes, you can use this on AT&T just like the 9530, 9500, and all other GSM band 850/1900 MHZ phones.

I don't know if it would be applicable to this specific phone, but I was talking to a t-mobile rep when I was checking out the 8900 at the corporate store... He said he heard there was a touchscreen blackberry coming out in the summer for t-mobile. He didn't want to elaborate more on that. If true, that would be very cool

it would be cool if T-Mobile could get their hands on the Storm. Wifi is an added bonus because it works even w/o a mobile connection or sim card. According to the model number (9520) I would (dare) to assume that T-Mobile will get this one. Why? The last 2 digits are 20. T-Mobile has the 8120, 8820,8320 and the 8220. Now I do know that at&t also has the 8320 model, but the likelihood due to the model number is intriguing. :-)

The XX20 numbering scheme just indicates GSM, wi-fi and GPS. That's why you'll see AT&T and T-Mobile with these phones, but not Sprint or Verizon.

I see :-). Well, that makes sense. I guess at&t shares the same likelihood in that case. I don't think it will stay with Rogers.

Wow!! Just when I was about to give up and go with the Javelin with T-Mobile.

Considering Rogers is getting it H1 of '09, could I assume T-Mobile will also be getting it mid-2009?
I talked to my government T-Mo rep today and he said they would be getting a touch-screen BlackBerry this year...so I am guessing the 9520 is it.

Yes. It will take the Storm 2 design.

Oh really!? So does that mean Tmo will get the 9520 but will look like the Storm 2 but it will not be Storm 2?

They are both new Storms. So there's multiple Storm 2's if you wanna think of it that way. Just different carriers.

I'm going to probably guessing these devices will ship out with DM 5, and probably OS 5...but I'm kind of not really ready for a Storm on AT&T as its been peoples thorn on their backside. Ill wait to see the reviews and see what improvements there are before I buy into another contract or phone at retail.

I thought the S2 was going to be released in late 2009 and not early 2010?
