I thought the 8830 would be better than the 8800. I guess I was wrong. The 8800 seems to have it all over the xx30 model.

To me the only thing the 8830 has over the 8800 is the EVDO speeds.

This is really good info Kasper. I know that I'm not the only one who was confused about options on both of these models. It seemed like addicts all over the net were unsure as both models were both being released fairly close together - the information coming out about each of them may have been jumbled around creating confusion.

At first, I thought it would have been better to wait for the xx30 model, but knowing what I do now, I would personally go for the 8800.

For those of us who live in Toronto and other parts of Ontario, in CANADA, if one wants a BlackBerry from the 'BB 8800 series,' the BlackBerry 8800 is now available through the ROGERS network (GSM).

Conversely, the BELL MOBILITY network (CDMA) will carry the BB 8830 World Edition (Official Release Date is scheduled for June 5, 2007.)

Both of these BlackBerrys have great features, and contrary to some reports, they both have built-in GPS with routing and turn-by-turn voice driving directions.

You can't go by processor speed 8800 x scale running at 312 mhz is a great processor but the 8830 uses an arm9 msm6550 processor which is slower but is a new enhanced multimedia platform chipset for high performance and low power consumption build for data-intensive wireless multimedia it also is optimized for audio, video, camera and graphics capabilities. All I'm saying is we don't know how well it will perform until it comes out. I only wish verizon would get a 8300 before AT&T and everyone else.
