    How cheerful an outlook... :-D

Chen said devices are still and will be part of the overall secure end-to-end strategy...
Yes, he did. But he also said that those devices won't necessarily be phones, or even end-user equipment. He stated that BB will always need to have hardware as part of its mix, but that could be routers or something similar - such as the "IoT hubs" that some companies are putting out, but geared more towards business. It could also be something similar to Apple's "beacon" sales system.

In any event, he made it quite clear that, while phones are hardware, hardware does not necessarily mean phones (or tablets, or laptops).

If you've been paying attention, BlackBerry technically announced 10.3.3 as the next iteration of major OS update for BlackBerry 10.

Currently, super early builds of the OS have been showing up on BlackBerry Servers - which*means you should expect a new BlackBerry 10 device in the coming months. Of course, this was also announced by Chen's team - although the form factor has not been revealed.

We're hearing it could be the Passport 2; and could debut alongside BlackBerry's next Android OS devices at MWC.

So for all the geniuses who say no more BlackBerry 10, I say you are wrong.

With Google's Android for Work, Google is targeting for 1 billion BYOD Android devices in the corporate and government space. Android already has over 20% of the BYOD market.

These are numbers that are many, many orders of magnitude larger than BB10's entire user base.

The good news is that BlackBerry's BES EMM solution is a partner.

Whilst that for the moment maybe true. BYOD is losing ground rapidly. It's NOT a feasible fit for both employer or employee. Furthermore Android / Google cannot be secured for High Corporate use nor Government applications.

A fifth of all enterprise bring your own device (BYOD) projects will fail in the next two years, according to the latest predictions from analyst firm Gartner.

Wait see what comes up. The focus right now would be for BlackBerry to gain traction in terms of their 5 million device mark. BlackBerry 10 isn't dead ,nor is it going away soon.

"Tech Pro Research's latest survey shows that the Bring Your Own Device movement is booming, with 74 percent of organizations either already using or planning to allow employees to bring their own devices to work.

Overall, the report showed that the BYOD boom continues to expand amidst a blend of benefits and challenges; 74% of respondents have either adopted the trend or are planning to do so compared to 62% nearly two years ago."

Of course security is a concern, that's why companies should embrace EMM solutions. And that's where BlackBerry BES/Good comes in.

How many other manufacturers offer a "containerized solution? .my organization will NOT consider BYOD the legal ramifications/ loss of control / Security, far outweighs any cost savings.

Android for Work is a containerised solution.

The security problems that some are facing are not the result of BYOD, but is due to the lack of an EMM solution for their BYOD.

But that is your organizations policy and not everyone else. In the case of most public and commercial organizations - security is applied in a gradual basis depending on an employees's security clearance. Most government agencies and companies apply the most basic security rues to most of their staff - since most of their employees are not privy to highly sensitive information. Security policies tend to focus on preventing employees from accidentally leaking out information. Not every government employee carries a phone with the latest encryption module as if they were a field agent for the CIA.

With unregulated industries yes you are partly correct, not all organizations require the full security measure, however it is important for Banking,Oil and Gas for example outside of Governmental uses.
