Thanks, good comparison.
Here's the one they did for Z10 vs Android

Wow BB10 destroyed Windows 8!
Also did you see how fast it launched Foursquare, not bad!
both these comparisons were very good, waiting on the ios edition
WP8 is not a bad OS, but given the choice between BB10 and WP8,, I'd choose BB10 because it is surprisingly more feature-reach. After using the Lumia 920 for about two weeks, I had this impression of "unfinishedness" with many features I needed lacking.
I used Android most of the time, and I really like it. Especially, if you have Jelly Bean, the OS is super powerful and is currently on the top as far as features, utilities, customization, etc. are concerned.
However, I decided to take a break and got an iPhone. Well, it's almost as simplistic as WP8, what I have grown to appreciate is that having the hardware and software manufacturer being the single entity offers a lot (no bloatware, timely updates, more HW optimization). Plus, Apple has unmatched Customer Service (I don't know of any other company that would exchange your damaged out-of-warranty device on site with no question asked for a more or less reasonable fee). And, besides, with the iPhone, everything indeed just works. I still yet to experience a single problem (this was not the case with Android).
Now, if Ubuntu was available, based on the available information, it'd be a very hard choice between BB10 and Ubuntu.
In any case, I will most probably get a BB10 device when I am due an upgrade (if BBRY is still around, of course). I just love new experience every time.
Why cant it be tuesday now? :(
This was my first time seeing a WP8. If this is accurate I am unimpressed to say the least. March cannot come soon enough.
In my opinion, WP SHOULD have killed BlackBerry. Huge money behind it, the possibilities of unparalleled integration, the decent app support (now). MS is doing something wrong with WP, and now BB can really shine. For some reason, people on WPCentral think that BB will have a hard time taking number 3 spot away from windows phone. If I'm not mistaken, BB7 Still outsells windows phone, and if that number has changed, there's still the market share question, so who's really number 3? BlackBerry should push the desktop and service agnostic approach. Want google? Sure! Use a mac or PC? No problem. Prefer sugarsync/dropbox/skydrive, BB works with them all. Because BB has relatively few services, they can make the device very attractive to those who are not all in with google or mac or windows.
No one cares about wp8 . I only know a single person that uses wp8 and I have not see another wp8 in the wild....not one....not even one. As for bb10 z10 which hasn't even come out I know a few people that have pre-ordered and I'm willing to bet I will see many in the wild after a week. That being said I would like to see a partnership with blackberry and Microsoft. I think those two together would be lethal and i think blackberry Microsoft and even apple will have to look at some form of partnership. Looking just at the stock market it is clearly saying goog is a.monster.
Thanks for posting these comparisons well done. Go team blackberry
He got the search wrong in the video, you can launch an app by searching but he searched it from within the hub, that search only looks for messages.
he made a note of that in the video, might not show if you have captions off or what ever they are
what about that WPcentral guy who ripped the BB10?
looks like win 8 phones are losers in this battle.
Yup, there BlackBerry Hub search searches for messages. The other search searches for everything.
I am also very impressed from this video. Good to know I'm not the only one that thought WP8 was kind of meh.
Great point! Blackberry not offering their own services can actually work in their favor. You already see an example of this when you try to setup your email. you can setup iCloud/ Gmail/ Hotmail/ yahoo no problem. I think that ultimately Google will support BB with their apps (Google Maps, YouTube) because they don't directly compete with Google the way MS does. Google & MS are competing in different areas and the most important being Search. Google doesn't make money off of Android, only with Search so they will be encouraged to support BB to weaken MS while making money off of BB.
Good video, but strongly biased, he compared things which are known to be weaknesses in WP8, none of the things that are good in that platform, and he used the worst WP8 phone, the Samsung Odyssey.
Suddenly I realized that a mix of both system would be my perfect phone.
Google is an ad agency.
They sell advertising space by telling their clients that their ads reach xx% of the mobile world. However, most of these users are Android users and have gazillions of ad-imbedded apps installed on them. That's how Google makes money. As for Search, the European Union is now questioning if Google is entitled to list websites in their searches without being compensated.
Google does not want paid, ad-free apps on any phone. That's why Android exists.
BlackBerry should steer clear of anything Google as it only feeds their machine. Being dependent on Google is definitely a course to ruin.
Haha! I couldn't help but laugh out loud when the BB World surprised the guy that the 2 apps he thought wouldn't be there was there! (in BB10 vs Android). He also loved the layout of BB World as well...and so do I. Google Play felt cluttered and icons were small. And I personally thought that BB10 was faster than the Android on that Note 2.
BB10 was certainly faster than WP8 when he opened the LinkedIn app., although he wasn't comparing it with higher-end device like the Nokia Lumia 920 though (don't know if that would make much of a difference). After looking at WP8 running on a device, I really dislike all those live tiles. Look so cluttered and busy. I'm amazed at how fast and responsive BB10 is. All the gestures felt intuitive and quick to getting what I want done, done faster than the other OS systems. I'm stoked! Tuesday cannot come fast enough for me now!
my 9860 and Note 2 talk to each other in relation to messages. Love my 9800 keyboard-perfect match up with a Note 2. Note handles all the things (videos, newspaper articles, games) too big for 9800 screen. Think BLACKBERRY should make a 5.5" Super Z10 pocket tablet. Phablet plus Q10 would make a perfect 2 pack mobile comms set up.

The BB Aristo is coming in the summer. That is expected to have a bigger screen, a bilt in Battery, & massive specs.....AKA a phone for the SIII / Note II esque users out there who like bigger screens & care about specs more then usability.
I've actually got to try a BB10 device. I'm a NL920 user (and mega Windows Phone fan) but even I can see the writing on the wall. To me, WP is toasted and I think all that is needed now is for BB, Apple, and Google, to all partner up together, and put Windows in its death bed. I think those 3 together, and Microsoft is completely out of the game in every aspect. No matter what they do. Will it happen? Probably not, and that will allow Microsoft to stay relevant and give them time to really push it back.
Excellent video imo. I'm not bashing MS or WP8, but his view is aligned with mine about the things that WP8 is still missing. I have been using Lumia 800 on and off for quite some time now, and some of the things that he mentioned that are missing annoys the heck out of me. This is coming from someone who has used WP for about half a year now, and I agree with what he is saying.
Take notifications centre. Sorely lacking. Its tiring. If you have an sms, email, twitter notifications, facebook notifications, missed calls in the morning. You want to check it, you have to go into sms, check, back to home screen. Then into email, check, back to home screen. Twitter, facebook, or linked in, Me tile. Then finally into the Phone tile, check, then back to home screen. I have been spoiled by BlackBerry's unified inbox, which gives me one location to check everything. If there was a notifications centre like iOS or Android, it would be a lot easier (as easy as on a BlackBerry) since notifications centre is available no matter where you are. WP has been around for for more than 2 years. Granted, iOS only added notification centre with iOS 5, which is a few months after WP7.5 was released, but still, it has been slightly more than a year since then, and MS still haven't added it, even with WP8/ 7.8, which is disappointing. I know rumours are that Apollo+ update might be adding that, but still, for a long time smartphone user that has used different platforms, its hard to live without it.
Take trying to make a phone call without universal search, I have to go into People Hub, search, then tap to call. Which normally on iOS, Android, I can just use the universal search which is just a swipe right; or Google Now which is always on my home screen, to achieve it. On BB with physical keyboard, I can simply type. But on touchscreen BB, of course it will be similar to iOS, and Android.
The above mentioned can be simply implemented by gestures, either to the right (which is empty now), and the search button programmed to be a universal search first and foremost on the device, then search on Bing if you wish. In the months that I have used a WP, I rarely use it. IT could be put to better use.
Yes, my opinion may sound like I'm bashing WP, but I'm honestly not. In no way were the rant above made to diss WP. These are things that I seriously hope that MS will put in their next update, because people want it (not just me, but that guy in the video, people in forums too). I'm ranting because I want WP to do well too. The more choices there are for consumers, the better it is. I actually do quite like WP. I love their approach with the OS. There are things they have done that are brilliant on the OS, things that I hope other platforms can learn from. It has potential. But MS seriously need to catch up in some aspects before I can live with one as my daily driver. Like member "bekkay" mentioned,
I get that same feeling of unfinished-ness as well. That there are basic feature/setting that other platforms are offering that WP isn't. They may have the excuse that they took the time to migrate WP8 to NT kernel, so its like a brand new OS, but its not. As far as consumers are concerned, WP8 is a newer version of WP7. It has been around for more than 2 years. One could say that BB10's precursor is PlayBook OS, and I wouldn't disagree. PlayBook OS had a lot of features/ settings missing too. But BlackBerry managed to plug a lot of those holes into BB10, and in my opinion MS did not do enough with WP8 to win me over.WP8 is not a bad OS, but given the choice between BB10 and WP8,, I'd choose BB10 because it is surprisingly more feature-reach. After using the Lumia 920 for about two weeks, I had this impression of "unfinishedness" with many features I needed lacking.
But of course, my opinions about various platforms are based around my own need. For a first time smartphone user, i personally think that WP is a great platform to start, and grow with. H*ll, I even recommended a couple of my friends/family one. Everyone has their own hierarchy of needs, and this is mine. This is just my 2 cents, and the reason why I agree with the reviewer from pocketnow. Which is why my money will go to BlackBerry instead of WP.
Peace.
edit: Apologies for making this such a long post, but WP and BB are my 2 favourite OS of the lot, and I want both of them to do well. If I didn't give a rat's *** about WP, I wouldn't have bothered typing all these in this thread at all.
