I am fine with the os. I wish we could swap away the apps down. I really liked the layout of the play book. Have one belt for most used apps then swipe up or down from there then have pages for apps. I really like the clean original look of the os layout. Rather than the similar to the iPhone looking.

the UI is good enough to be fixed, maybe a change of icons would be good since it was derived from the legacy Java OS'es and we're on QNX's Blackberry10 already...

Huh, by far, bb10 looks the most modern between android and iOS? Those two look cartoonish by comparison????

Not dated at all... maybe the icons and a few other things need work but no I don't think it's dated.

Yow! I had to go back to a default wallpaper to make sure of what you were referring to there.
Yeah you're right, they don't look so great.
I have an entirely black wallpaper (by setting an entirely black image as the wallpaper) ...and by using it, I'd forgotten that them fugly halos ever existed.

Same here, black background gets rid of shadows and provides better battery life for amoled devices.

UI is one of main reasons why I moved to BB10. I like icon background and white menus.

I agree that I like it and yet it is also conservative or dated or whatever the term. It's plain but functional and modern to me in how it feels to use it.

I'll contrast it with iOS 7 which has "too thin" a look for me. All those tiny lines and such. And the bright colors. Blech.

I like Androids UI but then there are also many variations. There is something about the look of the apps on Android that I don't quite like. Something about the styling and conventions.

The question really is what does the majority here want? A skeumorphed icon style or flat design?

All you people saying that BlackBerry should let TAT have a go at designing it have no idea what you're talking about since TAT are the ones that provided the current look of the UI!!!

I would like to see widget ability on the desktop.
The active frames don't pull the kind of information which Android widgets do. Everything else is good

What I hate most is those different themes black and white and blue hub. Why so? Isn't it logical to have full black theme on oled displays(like Nokia n9 with meego) and light theme for other displays. And maybe the ability to switch them as anyone likes. I just cannot get why hub is white with blue header on my z30? Why not pink and green then?

After few years of using Android I become overwhelmed with dominant black. Don't know, somehow BB10 got me, from default wallpaper to the menus and fonts...

Have no issues with the way the present UI looks but hey, maybe TAT may surprise us all if they are given unfettered authority to do redesign the UI.

all these differences of opinion in BB10 UI, makes me wonder if BBRY should really just concentrate their effort in making BB10 theme/skin friendly as opposed to the single controlled theme that they have.

Anyone feel that the user interface is unappealing and dated? Like how there's a fugly halo around app thumbnails. Little things make up the experience. I'd love to see a freshened up UI in 10.3. I'd love to see something modern, yet professional looking. Give it to TAT. Sweedes are known for modern, clean aesthetics. (just don't do what they did with the latest ios. That looks like it was designed for little girls who like puppy dogs and bubblegum)
