So if it is a repackaged Android app, wouldn't it be as good as what you get on an Android phone?

I have said since the PlayBook launch, and still stand by those comments, that Android Player was, and still is a huge mistake. Go Native or go home! This lazy man's solution is a deterrent to native programming, not an incentive.

From my understanding, no, because it seems like a lot of the repackaged apps are older versions (2.**).

I never liked the idea of android apps. The whole android OS is clumsy, and the android player just takes up RAM

I will take what I can get.
BB couldn't just throw money like Microsoft, repacking is better that launching like 30k apps

Well, if people want Android apps, why not just get an Android phone and put on a different launcher. That way you get all the Play store and Amazon apps and you get more choice on manufacturers too. Unless of course all you care is the name on your phone showing Blackberry. This is the exact reason I think Blackberry don't stand a chance here in US. Other than brand, what else does Z10 do better or differentiate compared to many soon to be mid-end Android phones on the market? Same soc, similar screen technology/resolution, no exclusive app, no standout feature, no class leading name recognition, worse apps selection, worse map apps. Admittedly, I am just an observer and a share holder, but I didn't see anything that is totally out-of-this-world worthy.
