BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 Releasing End of Year - N4BB

Article says it all, but they expect 10.3.1 to release by years end. Which means 10.3 will be launched before that. Something we all assumed, but its nice to know that 10.3.1 will come by years end, which should mean that 10.3 should be before Sept/Oct.

We all saw 10.2 launch in fall and then 10.2.1 many months later...so if we follow that time period of about 4 months. 10.3 should launch no later than September!

I am hoping for July summer release.

And for anyone saying they will wait for a new device, there aren't many new devices in the lineup as far as we know it, so they won't wait for a new device. IMO

    Anyways enjoy!

I said it before and I will say it again, 10.3 will come in late July, just my guess and it does make sense.

I do agree with that...with the SDK's launching in May and 10.3.1 to launch by years end...10.3 is looking mighty fine to launch July and 10.2.2 to launch in May.

Maybe 10.3.1 is the FIRST incarnation of 10.3???
End of year means November-December, right?

Also for anyone wondering...I forget where I saw it (downfall of reading every possible BBRY website and channel out there!) but I believe it was in a Channel that Lengend mentioned he believes a 10.2.2 Leak will be out this week at some point! So we are moving closer to 10.2.2 release!

Well, if this goes the way they have always gone, "end of the year" will mean 11:59 pm on December 31. And don't think they will somehow get it out sooner. They never do. It's always at the very end of a given time frame. So, those of you thinking, or hoping for, November? Ha. Wishful thinking.

And, it will only come from the few carriers who are usually the first to release new OSs. U.S. carriers will push it maybe 4 months later, except for AT&T, who will wait 6-8 months.

I wouldn't put it past some US carriers not to ever push 10.3.1. Who knows what touch models will still be sold in 2015 in the states.

This is 10.3.1...which means 10.3 out much earlier! 10.3 will be the update we want anyways! 10.3.1 will be great to have, but 10.3 will bring the revamped OS which is the best part! and since 10.3.1 will be out before end of year...even if it is dec 31 I don't care, that just means 10.3 will be out by at least September! So thats the good news and awesome thing that can be taken from this!

As the quote in the article states “We expect BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 to be commercially available toward the end of the year…” and this is not a solid confirmation, I've made a tweak to the thread title.

That said, I'm hoping that it happens.

That is if they can 10.2.2. The development was simultaneous (more or less) on both of these. I expect 10.2.2 (if they release it) to be in the May timeframe.

Yes absolutely believe 10.2.2 will be coming in May...so 10.3 since they are working on it and SDK will be out in May...we are looking at late July or August.

Doubt it will happen: devices on contract already on the network, BB would be bound by contracts on who can update and they don't have the leverage for future devices. They may be able to send an email on how to update manually but then have to be able to support their customers for issues arising from the update instead of sending them to carriers for support.

Imagine the cluster if BB pushed an update that broke Tmob WFC.

T-Mobile U.S.A. customers would have blamed T-Mobile, but now that BlackBerry ended their contract with them and said that they would fully support BlackBerry users on T-Mobile's network, the onus is on BlackBerry to deliver updates...
