I want to get my gf a blackberry but she's on a family plan and I don't think her parents would be too happy paying 30 for a data plan. I think a BB with wifi would be perfect. Which BB have wifi equipped? Thabks!

The simple answer, the models with '20 in the part number.
Pearl 8120, Curve 8320, World Editon 8820
Bold, a 9000 model also has Wifi.
I presume you know how limited Wifi is, only the Browser will be able to use it. There are no provisions for IM other then SMS text.
Makes a great PDA device, but don't plan on using third party software.
Ohh interesting, never knew about the '20 model number, just got into BB myself actually. But yeah I know without a proper data plan it's quite limited, but we're at college with wifi almost everywhere. Thanks!
... As for third party software, you can download using wifi
That is true, I have done it many times. The problem is, during the install process, nearly every third party application will try to initialize using BIS. No BIS, no function.
8350i, 8900 and 9000 are the ones that break the xx20 mold.
xx00 base model
xx10 GPS
xx20 WiFi
xx30 CDMA + GPS
xx50 iDEN + GPS
81xx Suretype + Camera
82xx Suretype + Camera + Flip
83xx QWERTY + Camera
87xx QWERTY
88xx QWERTY + GPS
89xx QWERTY + Camera + High Res Screen + Expanded Internal Memory
90xx QWERTY + Camera + High Res Screen + 3G + Expanded Internal Memory
95xx Touchscreen + Camera + 3G
For instance:
88xx base would be the 8800, and there is no 8810 since all 88xx include GPS. 8810 would be identical to the 8800.
*8350i has WiFi as well, something that other iDEN devices do not have.
** xxxxi also denotes an iDEN phone
*** this list is for devices 8100 and newer.

Nobody mentioned that with T-Mobile that you have unlimited VoIP over Wifi for 10.00 per month. I use my BB8220 as my only phone at home with Wifi with no minutes charged against the plan.
I only got the BB for its excellent "free" VoIP on WiFi . . but then it ended up replacing my IPOD too because its audio app works fine for me.
