At 5:30 am this morning, I awoke to my phone vibrating and I saw i had 15 unread messages. This is very unusual for me. They were all failed email attempts. Someone had hacked into my email account and was spamming various people about World of Warcraft!

I got out of bed, turned my computer on and changed my gmail password, and it all stopped, but when I try to sync my BIS with the new password it keeps saying its invalid. I even deleted my email from my berry and re-entered the username/pw.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

You have to change email settings through your Email Settings folder or your bb won't know the new password. Did that to me too. Click the Email Settings folder and delete and recreate the account, worked for me. Good luck!

That was one of the first things I tried, I even made a 3rd pw (without symbols because I thought it might get confused with an @) and it didn't work either.

Try a battery pull after creating a new account. If I remember I think I had to do that too!

I made a Yahoo! account and it won't work with that or my old Gmail. I also made sure IMAP was enabled.

I fixed it by having BIS make me a new email ([email protected]) and had my old email forward all mail to the new one.

HUZZAH!!!!!!!
