I am looking on my 9700 for any signs of BIS 3.0, and I noticed on the Manage Internet Email an option that allows me to choose contact and deleted items synchronization. I don't recall seeing this before, and neither is chosen at the moment.

Does this mean BIS 3 is implemented? Should I select any of the options while having Gmail Sync installed?

Actually, that was available with BIS 2.8 for Gmail e-mail accounts and Google Hosted app e-mail accounts.
