Alright folks, not sure how this got into my news feed but it did. It's all very far fetched but very eerily aligns with recent geopolitical events and apparent shifts in the world's dynamics. For what it's worth, I don't believe it but it's an interesting thought exercise.

Step 1: Go down to your bunker, retrieve your tin foil hat, and strap it on real tight.

Step 2: Read the following link:
What if an ex-KGB officer predicted that the USSR would fake its own collapse to ultimately defeat the Westand no one listened? | TheBlaze.com

    [Excerpt]
"Golitsyn?s overarching thesis, the so-called ?grand strategy,? is laid out in painstaking detail over two books: ?New Lies for Old? (1984) and ?The Perestroika Deception? (1985), which can be summarized as follows:

The Soviets developed a long-range strategy to defeat the West back in the late 1950s based on a Leninist strategy of strategic deception and subterfuge, replete with a planned collapse ? including potentially tearing down the Berlin Wall (which Golitsyn first detailed in a 1978 memorandum embedded at the end of this post)?in combination with perestroika and glasnost, words whose true definitions were far different than those the West ascribed to them.

These moves according to Golitsynwere designed to invite the West?s capital, technology and most of all gullibility/trust to Russia, which it could then use to build itself up, and, while the West moved leftward and intertwined itself inextricably with Russia and other socialist states, ?converge? and dominate the West under a world government headed by none other than the Russians and Chinese."
So... wtf does this all have to do with BlackBerry ???!!

Step 3: Consider the fact that Sergey Brin, Google's co-founder, immigrated from the USSR.

That's right ... tighten up that tinfoil hat...

What if the largest, most efficient data gathering operation in the past few decades has not been just an "innocent" ad shop? If you really think about it, giving out free Android software to be distributed at low (or no) cost to the masses in exchange for their private data and voluntarily become data gathering nodes, all while amassing large amounts of wealth for a few, doesn't seem too far off the (practical) Soviet model. What's even more amazing is that they don't even have to hide anything (unlike NSA, etc.) because data gathering is also part of their well-known publicly-offered services.

    Wouldn't that be something?

Anyway.... glad to hear the White House is trying out Android phones.

LOL... I didn't say I believed it... just said it made for a good thought exercise.

As terrifying as it would be, you would definitely have to admire such a long-term scheme.

I tend to not take anything TheBlaze has to say at face value. Or anything produced by Glenn Beck (who founded the site) for that matter.

This is all a ploy so that Lenovo (China and Russia in disguise) could circumvent any Canadian gov't veto on the purchase of the most secure mobile platform available and ultimately gain access to all our info as well as the new device mocks in Beta Mockit!

..... feel free to continue and add to this diabolical conspiracy....it's a good way to close a Friday.

There's definitely more there than meets the eye.

I just find the idea of such a long term plan executed throughout several leadership cycles very intriguing, and definitely would be admirable considering most decisions makers here can't see past their 2-year election cycle.

Luckily I'm sure Google has nothing to do with any of it.... or we would certainly be screwed.

Politicians can't seem to look past a 2 year cycle, until you read that they died after serving over 20 if them.

You are correct. If America falls, it will fall from within. America's greatest enemy is itself.
